On Tuesday October 25, 2016, Oprah Winfrey was on stage talking with Hearst employees about how she became ‘Oprah’. She illustrated how she had a dream for herself and when things were not going the way she dreamed of, she took a step back and let God’s plan take action. Here she is today at 62 years old, worth 2.9 billion dollars. Winfrey then addressed her passion for storytelling, in which she explains why she decided to work with Hearst and start her magazine company in 2000. Surprisingly, Oprah did not want to start up a magazine until Hearst’s former editorial director, Ellen Levine, approached her and explained that she can tell her stories through the written word.
